▏Here are five artists to see in this upcoming edition:

Get your art fix at Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair, returning to Los Angeles from April 4 to 7.  This edition promises an eclectic lineup of more than 140 independent, game-changing artists taking over the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. Tickets are now availablefor an experience that promises to deliver the unpredictable.

 

This spring edition kicks off with some fresh additions, including outdoor sculpture installations by Misha Libertee and Ivan Butorac; “Perceive Me,” a nude sketch portrait experience by Kristine Schomaker aimed at promoting self-love and positive body image; and live performances during Opening Night and the sought-after Friday Late party.

 

As the weekend unfolds, the fair transforms into a buzzing hive of activity, attracting art aficionados and design mavens on the hunt for fresh inspiration. But it’s not just about serious collectors—casual browsers are also in for a treat, searching for those unique gems that scream individuality.

 

And foodies, you have not been forgotten! In the embrace of the city’s sunshine and just steps from the [aisles of art] will be food trucks serving up delights (Heritage Kitchen LA, Veggie Bomb, Vivace Pizza), espresso drinks, and a bar that just won’t quit. It’s a vibe that’s hooked Los Angeles thrill-seekers and art lovers from all walks of life, from the mildly curious to seasoned collectors.

In the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles’ artistic landscape of 5 Artists To See at The Other Art Fair’s Los Angeles Edition This April, figurative painter  Cortney Herron weaves her creative narrative through acrylic and digital mediums. With a color palette that dances across her canvas and an interplay of organic lines and shapes, Herron finds delight in upholding an authentic artistic process. Fine and decorative artist Fujiko Rose joyfully explores the intersection of nature and design. Recognized as the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2019,  Rose’s artistic expressions, predominantly brought to life through monochrome ink, echo the timeless allure of antique intaglio prints cherished by her mother, alongside the vivid imagery that shaped her artistic journey from an early age.

Having initially built her reputation in dance photography,  her transition beneath the water’s surface enables her to harness the ethereal quality of weightlessness, weaving narratives that dive into the intricate realms of movement and composition.

巴黎 La Fondation 將一座原本只為汽車存在的 60 年代停車場,重新轉化為融合酒店、康體、餐飲與文化活動的複合式公共場所,讓粗獷混凝土結構再次回到城市日常之中。     巴黎 Les Batignolles 街區中的 La Fondation,將 20 世紀 60 年代辦公樓與停車場重新整合,轉化為結合酒店、餐飲、康體與文化活動的複合式場所。PCA-STREAM 保留原有混凝土骨架,讓這座原本服務車流的建築,重新回到城市日常之中。 適應性再利用專案往往傾向保留原有建築外殼,再透過新的材料與立面語彙柔化舊建築的工業感。但位於巴黎的 La Fondation,選擇了另一種方式。PCA-STREAM 並未刻意隱藏停車場原有的粗獷結構,而是保留混凝土框架,重新整理立面、動線與公共空間,讓原本封閉的停車場與商辦建築,轉化為更開放的 mixed-use development。最有趣的是,那些曾經服務車流的空間,如今反而成為人們停留與交流的場所。

從濃縮咖啡到晚餐,空間設計捕捉義大利鄉村質地與雪梨海岸的日常節奏。     Cibaria Manly 新義大利餐廳以輕鬆而自信的姿態,將義大利鄉村風格與雪梨海濱的悠閒節奏交織在一起。空間散發著不造作的溫度,捕捉義大利料理的豐富層次與生活感,為一天中的每一個時刻提供自然流暢的場景——從清晨的濃縮咖啡、午間用餐與開胃酒時光,到夜晚令人回味的晚餐體驗。這裡不只是餐廳,而是一段隨時間推移展開的日常敘事。 Cibaria Manly是一家位於雪梨海濱區曼利的新義大利餐廳,它散發著義大利的鄉村魅力,同時保留了該郊區悠閒而又國際化的精神。總部位於雪梨的Luchetti Krelle餐廳借鑒了普利亞、撒丁島和義大利裡維埃拉的元素,將地中海的紋理、色彩和當地元素融為一體,體現了餐廳多方面的烹飪特色。 Cibaria 圍繞著義大利餐飲的眾多rias構建——無論是forneria、spaghetteria、bisteccheria、gelateria還是其他——一次性捕捉了義大利美食的豐富性和多樣性,為一天中的每一刻提供了流暢的環境,從早晨的濃縮咖啡、午餐和開胃酒,到令人回味的晚餐。       餐廳位於全新裝修的曼利太平洋酒店 (Manly Pacific Hotel)底層,採用現代廣場的設計。兩個相連的空間——一家義大利餐廳和一家冰淇淋店——無縫銜接,並配有兩個寬敞的私人包廂。餐廳採用開放式佈局,蜿蜒的長椅將室內空間劃分成更私密的區域,而延伸的吧台座位則營造出更休閒的用餐氛圍,與廣場的隨意氛圍相呼應。設計不僅滿足了菜單的多樣性,還在空間上與之相呼應,創造出既獨特又相互關聯的區域。 地中海本土元素為計畫營造出雋永的質樸氛圍。紋理灰泥牆面、木質天花板橫樑、馬賽克地板和陶土磚,使空間成為一種 材料敘事,在義大利南部語彙與澳洲海岸之間建立對話。不對稱拱門與石窟式壁龕則引入雕塑感,將海景與酒瓶陳列框成介於農舍與夢境之間的空間體驗。
