The jolly characters are part of illustrator’s Creatures of Hope series, which overlays photographs of city with the whimsical figures. Creatures of hope the cheery illustrated monsters strut through New York City streets. The project was born out of the city’s strength and perseverance this last year. “As a native New Yorker, it was heartbreaking to see NYC endure such crippling loss and confusion during the pandemic last year. Creatures of hope the cheery illustrated monsters strut through New York City streets. Yet, despite everything, I still saw people striving with unshakable resilience.”

Displayed on LinkNYC. Creatures of Hope was named the runner-up in Creative Quarterly 62 and will be displayed on LinkNYC this year. Also has been working with Chinatown NYC to paint murals imbued with magic and joy around native neighborhood. Creatures of hope the cheery illustrated monsters strut through New York City streets. The idea is to increase safety and draw people back to the area following. The reduced traffic and violence against Asian people since the onset of the pandemic.

材料如何被石油體系重新定義

材料從來沒有中性過,只是我們習慣把它當作中性。 混凝土、鋼、玻璃——它們被討論時,總是停在強度、結構或形式。但那只是最後一層。 在那之前,它們已經被決定過很多次。 材料之所以看起來中性,是因為大部分決策已經在它出現之前完成。當我們開始討論材料時,其實已經太晚。     石油的影響並不止於能源供應,它進一步進入建築的物質層,重新塑造了我們對材料的理解,使材料不再只是被選擇與組合的元素,而是與能源體系緊密連動的結果,其生成、性能與使用方式都在石油系統的框架之中被重新定義。     材料在這樣的條件下不再被視為中性的建築構成元素,而是帶有明確來源與技術背景的產物,從塑膠、塗料、防水層到各類合成材料,其背後皆指向石油提煉與化工工業的生產鏈,使建築的物質基礎逐漸從天然轉向人工合成,這種轉變不僅改變了材料的物理性能與施工方式,也使材料本身成為一種可被標準化、複製與大量生產的結果,並在其生成與應用的過程中,逐漸依賴於隱藏地下的基礎設施與能源系統,進而影響建築形式與空間表現的可能性,使設計不再完全由形態決定,而是受制於材料系統的供應與限制 隨著這些材料被廣泛應用於建築之中,空間的生成邏輯也隨之發生改變,輕量化、高強度與高延展性的特性使結構得以突破原有的限制,建築可以更快速地搭建與擴張,同時也更加依賴隱藏於表面之下的材料層次來維持其功能,然而這些看似提升效率與性能的材料,實際上將建築更深地嵌入石油體系之中,使其在生命週期的每一個階段都與能源消耗與資源轉換緊密相連,從生產、運輸到維護與替換,都構成了一個難以脫離的依附關係 當材料被納入這樣的系統之後,建築便不再只是設計者操作的結果,而是成為一種由能源、技術與工業流程共同塑造的產物,其物質性不再純粹,而是混合了多重不可見的生產過程與資源流動,使我們難以單純以形式或功能來理解建築本身,而必須進一步追溯其背後的材料來源與生產邏輯,才能看見這些看似穩定的構成元素,實際上如何在石油體系之中被持續生成與重構   這些物質層面的轉變,最終仍回到同一個問題——建築如何在能源與基礎設施的系統之中被持續塑造與運作。     來源 材料來自哪裡,其實比它長成什麼樣子更重要。 開採、運輸、加工,每一個環節都在消耗能量,也在重新分配成本。這些過程不會出現在圖面上,但它們決定了什麼可以被建造。 Material is not chosen, it is

當城市與自然的距離越來越遠,童年也逐漸失去與世界建立感知關係的能力,而建築正試圖重新打開這道連結。     在當代兒童空間設計中,建築不再只是提供遊戲的場所,而是重新連結景觀、自然與學習經驗的媒介。從公共空間、教育建築到自然遊樂場,許多計畫透過地形、文化與環境策略,重新思考建築如何作為人與地景之間的感知介面。   Cities begin to change when public space is reimagined from the perspective of childhood and collective experience.   在為兒童設計的空間中,大自然與景觀如何對話? 兒童空間設計、自然遊戲、景觀建築,建築和城市設計如何塑造融合遊戲、參與和探索的自然氛圍?從讓兒童參與設計過程的參與式項目,到融入符合兒童需求的家具的建築環境,兒童空間的構想旨在創造一個相遇、學習和共存的場所。有時,這些空間能夠加強室內外的聯繫,將使用者與自然和周圍環境連接起來。教育建築、公共空間設計、自然學習根據不同的文化、習俗和對場所的歷史依戀,許多當代計畫運用各種工具和策略,將建築、自然和教育學結合,從而創造豐富的學習、遊戲和發現體驗。

被常綠樹冠包覆,這座度假住宅既像樹屋也像瞭望台,重新定義棲居高度。     The Nest 如同一處隱於林間的世外棲居,遠離塵囂,被茂密的常綠樹冠環繞,俯瞰豪灣(Howe Sound)的壯麗景色。它既像一座小木屋,又像一間懸浮於林梢的樹屋,介於現實與超現實之間。這座位於溫哥華海岸的度假居所刻意模糊建築與自然的邊界,既是緊密相連的社區節點,也如同一座靜靜佇立於高處的瞭望台,承載關於庇護、觀看與共存的想像。 棲息在濟慈島高處的「巢穴」(The Nest),距離溫哥華僅一小段渡輪航程,卻又宛如世外桃源。這座由建築師達莉亞·謝娜設計的住宅,是一種 建築與景觀關係 的實驗,在茂密常綠樹冠之中模糊了棲居與自然的邊界。 濟慈島森林茂密,地勢崎嶇,是一處休閒度假勝地,島上散佈著夏季小屋,約有50名常住居民,是一個緊密聯繫的社區。該島位於島上最高點之一,其僻靜的地理位置、高聳的地形和令人嘆為觀止的全景景觀對項目的設計產生了深遠的影響,最終使這座房屋彷彿與周圍景觀融為一體,又如同一座瞭望台般矗立於高處。           從建築角度來看,這棟房屋的設計理念是兩個立方體的碰撞,其中一個旋轉45度形成銳利輪廓。西部紅雪鬆覆層將體塊整合為一體,使建築外皮成為一種 材料敘事,隨時間轉為銀灰色,進一步融入周圍森林景觀。 A similar relationship between architecture and
